Dr. Tracy Petry

Dr. Tracy Petry is from Abbeville, Louisiana and grew up in Houston, Texas.  At the age of 13, Dr. Petry was inspired by her orthodontist  Dr. Elgin Wells to become a dentist.  

 Dr. Petry loved that the orthodontic treatment made her feel confident, and she wanted to be able to provide that same feeling to others.  Dr. Petry’s passion is creating beautiful smiles.  She believes in educating her patients about proper dental hygiene and personal health awareness.  She is the owner of Texan Dental, P.A.  Dr. Petry has a mentorship program that gives  high school and college students the opportunity to more about the field of dentistry while actively shadowing dental professionals.

Dr. Petry graduated from Texas A&M University with a BA in Biology.  She attended the number one rated  dental school in the nation at the time from 1991-1995, The University of Texas Health Science Center- San Antonio Dental Branch. She obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery D.D.S. degree in 1995 and was accepted into a General Practice Residency(GPR) program at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital in the Bronx, New York.  She was chosen to be the Chief Resident during her second year of GPR.

In addition, Dr. Petry is actively involved with her community. She is a member of National Dental Association( NDA), Gulf State Dental Society,  Charles A. George Dental Society, American Dental Association(ADA), Academy of General Dentists(AGD), American Association of Women Dentist(AAWD), Association of Black Women Dentist(ABWD),American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry(AACD). American Academy Clear Aligners (AACA).

Furthermore, Dr. Petry is a diamond lifetime member of the national public service sorority Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She volunteers at various career days, health fairs, free dental care days, #BeTheMatch registry drives, Gulf Coast Blood Bank and various food banks.  Dr. Tracy Petry says, “I love my  Church –  New Faith Church where is a member of the Health & Wellness ministry.

In addition, Dr. Petry is actively involved with her community. She is a member of National Dental Association( NDA), Gulf State Dental Society,  Charles A.
