Infection Control

Infection control and universal precautions protect both clients and staff. Everyone benefits from rigorous infection control — you, your dentist, and the dental team. Trust is the cornerstone of a safe and effective dental practice.

Drs. Petry and Raspberry, along with our entire team, follow procedures recommended by several federal agencies, including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). These measures include:

  • Wearing gloves and face masks
  • Chemical disinfection of countertops and surfaces
  • Sterilization of all equipment before each use
  • Use of disposable materials

We sterilize all reusable equipment, including dental handpieces, using an autoclave — a device that kills bacteria and viruses through steam, heat, and pressure.

The best defense against disease is information. The more you know, the better equipped you are to make informed decisions about your health care. Understanding our daily procedures and policies will help you feel more confident and comfortable.
